ASEAN Chamber of Commerce by the overseas Chinese from Southeast Asia and Macao business community is announced the establishment on November 8 in Macau. Mr. Chen Chuqiang,the Chairmen of Yes Development Co., Ltd is appointed as the first director of the ASEAN Chamber of Commerce.
He Houhua (Chief Executive of Macao SAR) ,Gao Yan (deputy director of Macao Office), Song Yanbin (Minister of Macao Foreign Affairs ) as well as the Deputy Prime Minister of Laos, Malaysia, Brunei, Philippiness, Vietnam, Burma, Cambodia, Consul-General in Hong Kong and Macao, Laos Actiong Consul General in Hong Kong and Macao and other officials attended the ceremony.
Mr. Tan Boyuan,Secretary for Economy and Finance of Macao SAR said that Macau is a place for co-operation.The govemment has rich experiences to promote and facilitate regional economic cooperation, Macao will gradually transformed into a modem service center, the economy will turn over into a new level.He believes that ASEAN international chamber of commerce will play an important role in this field.
At the same time, ASEAN International Chamber of Commerce will strengthern the ASEAN and China in trade, tourism ,cultural and sports fields.
Li Jia-ming, Chairman of ASEAN international Chamber of Commerce, hopes to promote cooperation and exchange between Macao and ASEAN countries by the Commerce. It’s palying a role of platform for Macau, and bringing such exchanges to Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
ASEAN International Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit social groups, its purpose is to contact business people to actively promote Macau and the Assodiation of Southeast Asian Nations and establish mutually beneficial cooperation between the economic and trad., It plays a role as bringe between China and ASEAN countries in the industrial and commercial development, resource development, education, culture, sports exchanges and cooperation in matters.
